Week 7

Some changes in work environment

On Monday morning, I received an email from my supervisor letting me know that she was heading in a new direction in her career and was leaving the company. This came as a bit of a surprise because I was under the impression that she would be staying with the company for a while, or at least until the product was finally launched early next year. Shortly after, Bruce emailed me to have a chat about my supervisor's exit and the next steps from there.

I came to learn that budget cuts and some rearranging in work structures led to my supervisor's decision to leave, which is of course, both disappointing but understandable. I am learning that the nature of a startup (currently solely funded by the CEO) will have a lot of changing dynamics and team members that will come and go. I experienced this when Olga could no longer continue with the marketing mentorship, and now with my supervisor leaving. I am really grateful for everything that my supervisor did to support my internship experience, and I am sad to see her go.

Task progress

This week, I have finally completed the visual assets for MC1. Here are a few more examples of my work:

My next task is to start designing the course brochures for all of the MCs, which I'm quite keen to get started on. I've started this task by having a look at a lot of other brochures from various universities and education entities.
